What is Life Coaching?

Life coaching is a person-centered and goal-oriented service to assist individuals to become the best versions of themselves. It differs from therapy in numerous ways but the most important being, as a life coach, I do not diagnose mental disorders. Coaching sessions live in the present and future, whereas therapy delves into the past and present. I am trauma informed and care deeply for those who have a desire to work through current patterns and difficulties related to their trauma histories. If I notice a client needs more assistance working through trauma, depression or anything that is out of my league, I will immediately refer to them to a therapist or counselor. There is much benefit in working with both if the client is willing and able to tackle goals related to the present and future while diving deep with a therapist. 

 

I believe each person is the expert and their experience is the wisdom they hold to unlock the tools they need to work through each obstacle and success. Coaching provides each person access to their strengths based from their beliefs, values and experiences and utilize them to overcome struggles. They're also liberated to strengthen these tools for future struggles or hiccups in life.
